Things to Do in The Hague This Autumn: Your October Guide

Autumn is one of our favourite times of year in The Hague. The summer crowds have gone, the leaves are turning golden, and the city takes on a quieter, warmer energy that is genuinely hard to resist. If you have been thinking about a weekend away or you are already staying with us here is everything worth knowing about The Hague this autumn.

The Japanese Garden at Clingendael

The Japanese Garden at Clingendael Estate is open only for a few weeks each year, with vibrant autumn colours from 4 to 19 October. It is one of those places that genuinely stops you in your tracks, serene, beautiful, and completely free. Go on a weekday morning for the best experience.

World Forum Theater in The Hague

This one is not to be missed. From 23 October to 21 December, an internationally acclaimed circus and performance spectacular is coming to Malieveld in The Hague, just a short walk from our front door at Kneuterdijk 8. Expect breathtaking acrobatics, extraordinary staging, and an atmosphere that is unlike anything else in the city this autumn. Book your tickets in advance, this one sells out.

Scheveningen in Autumn

Most people assume the beach is a summer-only affair. It is not. With over 11 kilometres of coastline, The Hague is a true beach city, even in autumn. The crowds are gone, the light is extraordinary, and a handful of beach bars stay open through the colder months. A brisk walk along the seafront followed by a warm drink is one of the best things you can do on a crisp October afternoon.
